Dhaka Production

Using 2 shaft looms, plain weave, the weavers build intricate patterns using a simple inlay technique and by counting threads. This time consuming but highly skilled technique means the weavers have a constant struggle competing against the factories in Kathmandu, who are of course cheaper and faster (but considerably poorer quality).
